This course is a bit different than others you may have tried. You might think of it as "pre-exercise," or a way to get into movement so it helps you release pain and build support for your posture.

You'll be learning about how your body moves and heals itself, which may lead you to unexpected perks like a whole lot more energy, a great relationship with your body, and that graceful like a swan feeling.

The strategies & techniques in this course are universal to how the body moves. You can give them to yourself as a standalone healing session, or weave them into your exercise program and daily activities, or both.

A movement education is more than an exercise program. It's a holistic foundation for anything you do physically. You'll learn breathing, alignment and simple but accurate movement techniques to help involve you - the whole person - in your own healing.

This 8 Week Course Includes:

Foundation is important in this course, and each lesson builds on the previous ones. To that end, you'll receive one module per week, for 8 weeks. Here's what you'll learn:

Unit 1: Set Yourself Up for Success

Learn how to set yourself up for high quality body alignment work. Includes breathing, body placement and journaling for healing purposes.

Unit 2: Basic Body Alignment

Deep dive into alignment; hone your Unit 1 skills by getting more specific.

Unit 3: Neck & Shoulder Tension

Tackle excess shoulder muscle tension gently with breathing and imagery techniques.

Unit 4: More Upper Body Techniques

Add two more techniques to your holistic pain relief foundation. One is a breathing technique and the other is a posture image.

Unit 5: Work Your Abs, Deeply

Gently ignite your deep core and explore the role of the abs in good posture and a healthy back.

Unit 6: Hip Joints - Key to Efficiency

Find, feel and experience the action of the very key hip joints. Examine your attitude towards body alignment work.

Unit 7: Stabilize and Mobilize

Keep your core tuned up by skillfully stabilizing, then mobilizing the all important pelvic bone.

Unit 8: Switch Up Your Relationship to Gravity

Learn how to preserve good body alignment by challenging it in two other positions.

About Your Instructor

Anne Asher has nearly 30 years’ experience helping people help themselves out of pain without the use of drugs or surgery. She holds three certifications from the American Council on Exercise: Trainer, Health Coach and Orthopedic Exercise Specialist.

Anne is a recognized leader in the field of holistic pain management. Her expertise has been featured in major media outlets including Wiley, Conde Naste, the American Council on Exercise and About.com, formerly a division of The New York Times Company.  She is also an award-winning health journalist specializing in spine and holistic pain management.

For 9 years, Anne served as a lay reviewer for the Cochrane Back Group, an organization that provides the general public with science backed data on the effects of various spine treatments.
